UK government consults on draft legislation implementing the UPC regime

10.06.2014

The UK Intellectual Property Office has today launched a consultation (HERE) on draft secondary legislation to give effect to the UPC Agreement and EU legislation on the unitary patent. The changes are intended to come into force only when the UPC Agreement itself enters into force.  The draft legislation is in the form of a draft Statutory Instrument (in Annex C of the consultation document HERE ) made under the authority of the Intellectual Property Act 2014.  The consultation closes on 2 September 2014.

We look HERE at the major changes and issues on which interested parties may wish to lobby.
