Update on selection of UPC judges

31.03.2014

The Preparatory Committee published today an update on the selection and training of judges.  In its next meeting, in early July, the Committee plans to discuss the recommendations of the Advisory Panel (which reviewed the 1300 applications) and then approve a provisional list of potential candidate judges.  Every applicant will then be notified by letter in the following weeks.  Subject to funding, training is expected to commence this autumn, the training proposal having recently been adopted and the training centre in Budapest officially opened.

The commencement of training in autumn 2014 corresponds with the timing planned by the Preparatory Committee when it published its roadmap in June 2013.  A roadmap with updated timing of other strands of the UPC system is still expected to be published by the Committee soon.
