UPC to hold first substantive hearings in September

23.08.2023

Three months after the opening of the Court, the Unified Patent Court will hold its first substantive hearings at the Munich local division in respect of two applications for injunctive relief on 5 and 19 September. The hearings will examine whether PI applications should be granted in the infringement case brought by 10x Genomics against Nanostring on the first day of the Court’s opening in June.

In terms of logistics, the Presiding Judge has ordered that a total of 16 seats will be reserved in the hearing room for the parties and their legal and patent attorney representatives. The allocation of those seats will be made in consultation with the chairperson. Other parties to the proceedings will be admitted as listeners. 37 seats are available for observers which will be allocated on a first come, first served basis; 10 seats in the meeting room and 27 seats in an overflow room. More details can be found here.
