The Regulation updating the EU rules on the jurisdiction of courts and recognition of judgments to take into account the Unified Patent Court (UPC) was published today in the Official Journal here.  The Regulation amends the Brussels I Regulation, and its full title is “Regulation (EU) 542/2014 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 15 May 2014 amending Regulation (EU) 1215/2012 as regards the rules to be applied with respect to the Unified Patent Court and the Benelux Court of Justice.”

Although the Regulation will enter into force tomorrow, it will not apply until 10 January 2015.
