The Luxembourg government has advertised the following vacancy in the Ministry of Digitalisation: Ingénieur diplômé chargé de la mise en place du système informatique commun de la Juridiction unifiée du brevet européen (JUB) (m/f). In summary, the person would lead the implementation and maintenance of the ICT system of the Unified Patent Court (UPC), and represent the Computer Working Group on the UPC Committees. They would have a master’s degree in computer science (or equivalent), at least 3 years’ relevant experience, and proficiency in English with a good command of French.
The position is located in the CTIE (Centre des Technologies de l’Information de l’Etat, State Information Technology Centre) in Luxembourg. The UPC’s Registry (and also Court of Appeal) will be in Luxembourg, and in March 2016 a team in the CTIE took over from the UK IPO’s team the development of the UPC’s IT system. The closing date for applications for the position is 27 November 2019. The UPC’s Case Management System https://cms.unified-patent-court.org/login (which includes the ability to perform mock applications for opt-outs and to be registered as a UPC representative) has been substantially developed and remains in test mode until it transitions to the production environment for the sunrise period (when opt-outs can be registered).
