The Preparatory Committee agreed in its meeting yesterday that the UPC will not be operational until the end of 2015 at the earliest.  Reporting on the meeting, the Committee says that it was clear that the ambitious target date of early 2015 set at its first meeting (a year ago) could not be accomplished, and self-imposed deadlines must not stand in the way of quality. The Committee will publish a revised roadmap shortly.

Specific topics discussed included rules on court fees and on the European Patent Litigation Certificate.
