The legislation enabling the Netherlands to ratify the Agreement on a Unified Patent Court (UPC) has now been promulgated by the Minister of Security and Justice on 6 September 2016 and officially published (here). This follows the passage of the bill through the Dutch parliament, which was completed by approval of the Eerste Kamer (the first chamber, i.e. the Senate) on 28 June 2016. However, for the ratification to have effect the Netherlands must deposit its instrument of ratification with the Council of the EU.
