The consolidated text of the draft Regulation amending the Brussels I Regulation has now been published in the Council Register (here), and is expected to be formally adopted in the Council meeting in June 2014 to become law.  It will apply from 10 January 2015, the amendments having updated EU rules on the jurisdiction of courts and recognition of judgments to take into account the Unified Patent Court (UPC).  Publication of the consolidated text follows the European Parliament’s vote in plenary earlier this month in favour of the compromise text agreed with the Commission and the Council.
