The Unitary patent and Unified Patent Court (UPC) featured prominently in the 17th European Patent Judges’ Symposium, recently published by the EPO in the Official Journal Supplementary publication 5/2015, 23 December 2015 (here).  The Symposium is biennial and the 17th was held in September 2014.  UPC topics covered included the training of UPC judges, judicial conduct, case management, judgments, and interaction between EPO Boards of Appeal and national courts and possible UPC solutions, e.g. if patent held to be infringed is later revoked.  Also, the case study concerned a claim for infringement of a unitary patent with a counterclaim for revocation.
