Sweden progresses with UPC legislation

A patent bill prepared by the Swedish government proposing ratification of the UPC Agreement is currently before the Swedish Parliament for approval. The bill also concerns amendments to national patent law to allow for the unitary patent system, and the establishment of the Nordic-Baltic regional division of the UPC (agreed in March between Sweden, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, and to be based in Stockholm and operate in English).
