Annsley is an experienced and commercially-focused intellectual property litigator specialising in complex cross-border patent and trade secrets litigation in the life sciences and TMT sectors. With a background in chemical engineering, Annsley advises leading innovative companies on high value patent and SPC litigation before the English courts and CJEU. She frequently supports pharmaceutical clients in coordinating their global litigation strategy and life cycle management projects against generics
Over the past 6 years, Annsley has been closely involved in preparations for the Unified Patent Court publishing over 50 articles on the subject for the award-winning IPKat blog (of which she is a permanent contributor), Managing Intellectual Property and Intellectual Property Magazine. As a recognized expert on the UPC, Annsley advises clients and industry associations on the impact of the Unified Patent Court Agreement and Rules of Procedure on litigation strategy and planning. Notably, she assisted CIPA, IPFed and the IPBar in preparation for hearings before the House of Commons European Scrutiny Committee on the UPC.
In 2014, she was appointed as Secretary of AIPPI’s Standing Committee on the Unified Patent Court and Unitary Patent. Together with the Committee Chair and Bristows’ partner Alan Johnson, she presented at AIPPI’s session on this subject in October 2015 in Rio de Janiero.
